Antron® brand donates safety glasses to Atlanta Public Schools

KENNESAW, Ga. (May 19, 2015 ) — INVISTA's Antron® brand recently donated 4,300 pairs of safety glasses to the Atlanta Public Schools for use in kindergarten through 12th grade science programs.

The school's science department will identify schools with a need for safety glasses, and then ensure distribution of the glasses to the identified schools for use in science classrooms and labs. The donated safety glasses will assist the district in augmenting its science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) program.

"These safety glasses are similar to those used by our own scientists as they work on the science behind the performance of Antron® carpet fiber," said Lisa Connolly, Antron® brand director. "Our team is proud to get these glasses in the hands of the students and staff of the Atlanta Public Schools as the district strives to enhance its science-based education."

Katie McDowell, executive director of Partnerships and Development, said "Atlanta Public Schools is both thrilled and grateful for INVISTA's generosity. We work hard every day to inspire hope and to ensure a better future for all students in every classroom. Having partnerships with a cadre of external stakeholders committed to transforming our education system is a key component of this work going forward."
