Major Color Expansion Unveiled For Latest Antron® Carpet Fiber Technology Receives Environmentally Preferable Product Certification

895 Fine Denier Color Line Inspires Innovative Carpet Styling

Chicago (June 11, 2012) — INVISTA, makers of Antron® carpet fiber, today announced the official launch of 105 new colors in a finer 895 denier, further expanding its Antron® Lumena™ solution dyed fiber offering to inspire product development teams at commercial carpet mills and expand their design capabilities.

INVISTA has received Environmentally Preferable Products (EPP) certification from Scientific Certification Systems, a third-party organization, for the 895 denier Antron® Lumena™ solution dyed fiber. Established by U.S. Executive Order 13101 (replaced by EO 13423) and certified by Scientific Certification Systems, EPP certification identifies products as having a lesser or reduced effect on health and the environment when compared with competing products that serve the same purpose.

The new offering plays well with 205 standard colors of Antron® Lumena™ nylon in 1245 denier and provides a myriad of options for achieving unique color depth and uncommon aesthetics.

"The extensive color bank and finer denier size of the new 895 denier Antron® carpet fiber will allow us to create carpet styles that hark back to the essence of unique looks achieved with yarn spinning," said Valerie Ottaviano, vice president, product design, Bentley Prince Street. "We are embracing the new fiber system to help us develop innovative carpet styles that will expressly be our own. In combination with the standard Antron® Lumena™ nylon in 1245, there is nothing else like it in the marketplace."

In collaboration with international color experts, INVISTA strategically developed the 895 denier palette with deliberate color value shifts resulting in a balanced mix of warm and cool neutrals and vibrant hues inspired by global color trends. Many of the colors will be available with a light, medium and deep tone, allowing for color depth in carpet. Whether using solely within the new 895 denier palette or combining it with the 205 standard colors of Antron® Lumena™ nylon in 1245 denier, it encourages innovative and intriguing combinations of color, pattern and texture.

"The 895 denier Antron® Lumena™ solution dyed fiber is flexible, broad in palette, and grounded by an assortment of warm and cool neutrals and accented by pops of color inspired by the latest global trends," said Todd van der Kruik, product innovation manager for the INVISTA Commercial Flooring. "It is designed to spark creative journeys for carpet mill product development teams to mix and match and create uncommon carpet styles that truly inspire."

The new Antron® Lumena™ solution dyed finer denier fiber facilitates the process of bringing design vision to fruition. The finer denier also enhances carpet styling and allows for creative expressions in lower face weights.

The new offering will be showcased later this summer in a newly design merchandising system, as well as through color trends tools featuring four global trends identified through the collaborative process with Global Color Resource Group.
