We believe that Sustainability Begins with Products that Last, and our life cycle and performance data for carpet of Antron® nylon shows that products that last a long time help to reduce the environmental footprint of a product. The longer a carpet can be down on the floor, the fewer raw materials are consumed and the less waste is generated by the need to replace it more often.
In fact, carpets of Antron® fiber can have up to 38% lower energy consumption and 42% lower greenhouse gas emissions (expressed as CO2 equivalents) than the majority of competitive carpets, according to combined life cycle analyses and performance testing results. We determined this after an eco-profile of INVISTA's manufacturing processes developed by Boustead Consulting & Associates Ltd. was conducted and put together with the length of time our products perform during their first life. Specifying long-lasting products can result in environmental benefits such as reduced energy consumption and emissions, as well as minimized waste due to fewer replacements.
But we don't stop with manufacturing durable products.
