How To

Recycle Your Carpet

Why Carpet recycling is important

As a society, the U.S. contributes about 3.5 billion pounds of carpet waste to landfills every year. Unfortunately, carpet is not on the minds of most people when thinking of recyclable materials. But the carpet industry has recognized there is a huge problem and started taking steps during the last decade to change that. Industry leaders have committed to reducing manufacturing waste and implementing changes that will make a positive impact on the environment. Now it's your turn. Learn about more sustainability from Antron®.

INVISTA Recycling Initiatives

In 1991 the Antron Reclamation ProgramSM was created to provide environmentally positive alternatives for commercial carpet disposal. Today, we have reclaimed and recycled well over 100 million pounds of used carpet; resulting in over 370,000 cubic yards of landfill space.

Recycling old commercial carpet is easy with the Antron Reclamation ProgramSM as it is accessible through your local flooring dealer.

Every flooring project renovation includes rip up, removal and disposal fees for the old carpet. But instead of traditional landfill disposal, we encourage you to recycle your carpet waste.

We make it easy for you to include carpet reclamation in project specifications with the INVISTA reclamation specification. By including a reclamation specification in your project documentation, you can be confident that the flooring contractor removing the old carpet will not send it to a landfill.
