Pacificrest, the specified contract division of Royalty Carpet Mills, specializes in high-style, high-performance carpet for the commercial market with over 40 distinct styles designed for corporate, hospitality, retail, health care, assisted living and higher education applications. Pacificrest manufactures cut and loop, level loop, cut pile and graphic broadloom carpets using state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly processes at the company's 1,125,000 sq. ft. headquarters, plant and distribution center in Irvine, CA. With over $30 million in sales, Pacificrest is the 14th largest commercial carpet mill in the U.S.

Pacificrest deeply respects the beauty and inspiration of nature; in fact, the company was named after the Pacific Crest Trail in the Sierra Nevada mountains at its founding in 1978. In that spirit they accept that it is their responsibility and obligation to reduce the impact of their processes on the environment and the demand for non-renewable resources. Some environmental initiatives Pacificrest has adopted are:

  • Reclaimed Water - In 1996 Pacificrest became one of the first businesses in Irvine to connect to the city's then newly-created reclaimed water distribution system. In 1997, the firm earned the Water Winner Award from the Irvine Ranch Water District.

  • Energy Co-Generation - From one fuel, natural gas, Pacificrest creates steam for turbines that generate electricity for their manufacturing facilities. The steam is then reused to heat water for dyeing equipment. Thus, one fuel source yields two types of energy-electrical and thermal.

  • Reclaiming Nylon - Nylon sheared from the surface of carpet as it goes through the finishing process is aggressively vacuumed. The sheared nylon is collected, bagged, and sold to be melted down and used in the manufacturing of automotive parts. This reduces the demand for virgin raw materials made from petroleum, one of the world's most critical non-renewable resources.

  • Heat Recycling - Pacificrest 's state-of-the-art finishing line recycles heat, dramatically reducing energy use and eliminating tons of air emissions per year.

Pacificrest's goal is to provide only the finest carpets available. It's this vision that has fostered their relationship with Antron®. Larry Pope, Pacificrest Carpets Vice President, says, "We are proud of our 25-year business relationship with INVISTA. It has been good for our company over the years. They have been innovators, giving us the styling and fibers we need to develop great carpet." That is why Pacificrest so often chooses to manufacture carpets made of Antron® fiber. "We believe that Antron® type 6,6 is the best fiber in the world."

New from Pacificrest, The Pave Collection- a distinctive presentation of fashion-inspired colors for corporate environments. The Pave Collection is a single resource that features 151 colors in solid and tonal colorations, plus seven accent colors for 309 interpretations in all. It is a random texture, cut and loop carpet made from 100% Antron® Legacy nylon. This collection is designed to complement the colors, textures and patterns in all of the current Pacificrest product lines, giving designers greater flexibility. Pacificrest Carpets are "fashioned for business" and environmentally friendly.
